Dear Friends:

When I was asked to become Interim Headmaster over the summer of 2008, I came with a desire to serve during a transitional period in the life of CBDS and to exercise my passion for Christian learning and education.  Now, months later, I recently accepted the position of  Headmaster and find that my future – and yours – is now inextricably linked!

As I have said, I am passionate about Christian education, but am even more passionate about academic and spiritual excellence.  I have been tasked with leading the efforts in Raising the Standard in these two areas and, to be honest, you can’t be Biblically excellent in one area without the other.  So there is a natural fit here, and I am excited about seeing extraordinary things happen in our midst.

Academically, we will begin evaluating all of our standards and curriculum and integrating classical educational principles in all that we do.  To learn more about this process and timeline in the coming weeks, click on the related link to the left.

Spiritually, we will begin by approaching our discipline policies in a different manner, with an emphasis on honor and integrity (versus solely punishment) as we seek to build Godly character in the lives of our students.  We rise and fall as a nation and as a people based on our word – the ability to make and keep a commitment, and , when we fail as we all do, take personal responsibility for our actions.  To learn more about this process and timeline in the coming weeks, click on the related link to the left.

Alfred North Whitehead once said, "Christian education is a task worthy of the highest genius - it is the training of souls."  Join us in our efforts to train the souls of future generations by making CBDS an extraordinary place – for His glory!

In Him,
